If there’s one country that feels like it was plucked straight from another planet, it’s Iceland. From thundering waterfalls and black sand beaches to puffin-covered cliffs and steaming hot springs, this place is a dream for anyone who loves road trips and jaw-dropping landscapes. Along the way, I chased what felt like a hundred waterfalls, stood in awe at Diamond Beach as icebergs sparkled in the surf, and went whale watching in the North of Iceland.

What makes Iceland especially great for travelers is how safe and easy it is to explore. Renting a car gave me total freedom to stop wherever I wanted (which, let’s be real, was about every five minutes). Whether you’re in it for the landscapes, the adventure, or the chance to meet some very friendly sheep along the road, Iceland will steal your heart – it most certainly stole mine.
