Top 10 Things to do at Disney’s Private Island: Castaway Cay (according to a Crew Member)

If there’s one word to describe Disney’s Castaway Cay, it’s paradise. As a Disney Cruise Line Crew Member, I’ve visited this magical island countless times—and honestly, it never gets old. Whether you’re a first-timer or a returning guest, here are my top 10 favorite things to do on Castaway Cay that you absolutely can’t miss!

1. Go for a Bike Ride

My personal favorite way to explore Castaway Cay is by bike! The island offers several scenic bike trails that wind through lush tropical landscapes. Starting from the bike rental hut, you can pedal along the main trail that leads to a lookout loop featuring a climbable fort with stunning island views. Another great path near Serenity Bay takes you to a peaceful oceanfront rest stop. The trails are mostly flat, with water stops along the way, making this activity fun and accessible for everyone.

2. Enjoy an Island Cookie (or Three!)

No visit to Castaway Cay is complete without tasting the island’s famous warm, soft cookies. They’re available at various spots around the island and are totally irresistible. Feeling adventurous? Try making your own cookie sandwich with the free soft-serve ice cream machines. It’s a delicious little indulgence that adds a bit more magic to your day.
